GOOD FRIDAY APPEAL

Collecting for the Royal Children's Good Friday Appeal has a long history in the Trentham district. It was initially overseen by Jill and Bill Henderson and Gwenda Dickens of Tylden, with the Tylden Youth Group.

It was then handed over eight years ago to a combined effort with Trentham CFA and Trentham Lions.

Last year over $10,000 was raised. Great support comes from the Trentham Primary School who have regularly taken out the local Community Shield for the most money collected.

In addition to the Good Friday action, a raffle is held to boost the funds, with tickets sold downtown on High Street on Saturday mornings, mainly with the friendly faces of Tim Walsh, Kath Morrison, John McLaren and others.

To join the 2026 Trentham Collection Team, form your own team of 2 or 3 people, then phone Tim Walsh to register on 0417 006 146. Report to the Trentham Fire Station at 25 Market Street between 9.00 - 9.30am on Good Friday, 3rd April 2026.

Everything is provided and the collection usually takes about 2 hours.
